FAQs
Q: HOW TO USE?
A: Before first use, remove all packaging and tighten all TempAlert Knobs to make them “snug”. Do not over tighten. Wash your new cookware with warm soapy water and a few cups of vinegar using a soft sponge or cloth, to remove any trace amounts of manufacturing oils.
Q: HOW SHOULD I CLEAN MY COOKWARE PROPERLY?
A: Avoid unnecessary scratches, we recommend hand washing with hot soapy water and a soft blue scour scrub sponge to clean the inside.
Never use a steel wool sponge as it will mar your cookware. If you see any burnt spots from heat, use Professional Platinum Shine or Bar Keeper’s Friend cleanser to keep your Cookware looking like new.
By following these cleaning tips, you can keep your platinum cookware in excellent condition for years to come.
Q: WHY IS MY FOOD BURNING?
A: Your new Professional Platinum stainless steel cookware retains heat exceptionally well. If your food is burning, it's likely that your heat setting is too high or you missed the TempAlert range between 40 and 60 degrees Celsius. To prevent burning, cook on medium heat and keep an eye on the TempAlert Knob. Once the temperature reaches between 40 and 60 degrees Celsius, reduce the heat to low.
Q: HOW CAN I OBTAIN REPLACEMENT PARTS?
A: TempAlert Knobs and side handles are included in the lifetime warranty. You're only responsible for covering the shipping cost of the replacement knob or side handle. To request replacements, please visit www.platinumcookware.ph/warranty
Q: WHAT LEVEL HEAT SHOULD I USE?
A: Your ideal cooking temperature should be at the 40-60 mark. Medium to Low — It's All You Need to Know.
Q: WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO PREPARE FRESH OR FROZEN VEGETABLES?
A: Fill your cookware unit at least 2/3 full with vegetables, then rinse them thoroughly in cold water. Drain off excess water and cover the unit. When cooking, place the unit on a burner of similar size. Once your TempAlert Knob reads between 40 and 60 degrees Celsius, reduce the heat to low. Most vegetables will require approximately 8-10 minutes per quart after reducing the heat. Refer to our cooking chart on the back for more guidance.
Q: HOW CAN I COOK MEATS WITHOUT USING OIL?
A: Preheat the covered unit on medium heat until the TempAlert Knob reaches 40 degrees Celsius. Place the meat or poultry into the unit, pressing firmly, and leave the lid slightly cracked open for approximately 4-6 minutes. Maintain medium heat. The meat or poultry will adhere to the skillet. Lift the cover and turn the meat with a fork or spatula, then press it down gently. For most chops, chicken, burgers, etc., cooking time is about 4-8 minutes per side. When cooking steaks, the general rule is approximately 6 minutes per side.
Q: HOW DO I MAKE SURE MY PANS ARE PROPERLY SEASONED?
Similar to many high-quality cookware brands, Professional Platinum Cooking System requires seasoning before its initial use. However, it's not necessary to season your pans before each use. Here's the correct method for seasoning your pans:
- Heat your pan over medium-low heat and apply approximately 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil evenly across the interior.
- Allow the pan to heat for 1-2 minutes.
- Your pan is now seasoned and ready for cooking. It's as simple as that!
